El Pintón

Modern Tapas with Serious Style in the Heart of Seville

Our trip to Seville wouldn't have felt complete without a meal at El Pintón. Located on Calle Francos, one of the city’s most charming pedestrian streets, this place sits right between the Cathedral and Plaza del Pan. The walk there was honestly part of the pleasure — perfect spring weather, people browsing shops, kids playing, and the energy of the historic centre all around us.

When we arrived, the restaurant wasn't too busy, which made it feel calm and welcoming. We chose to sit outside on the terrace to enjoy the sun and watch life go by.

Inside, the space opens up around a bright courtyard filled with natural light and greenery. It blends rustic Andalusian elements like exposed stone walls and arches with soft pastel colours, wood, and modern furniture. It feels both old and new at the same time — relaxed, airy, chic, and very photogenic.

The vibe is lively but comfortable. Lots of daylight, a happy buzz of conversations, and a layout that feels open but still intimate. It’s the type of atmosphere that makes you want to stay for hours.

The menu mixes traditional Spanish tapas with modern ideas and bold flavours. Everything sounded exciting, so we ordered a mix of starters and mains.

We started with the egg tempura with truffle parmentier, which was rich and creamy with a delicate crisp exterior and an earthy truffle aroma that lingered beautifully.

Next came the Iberian ham croquettes — crispy on the outside, soft and savoury inside, with a subtle hint of nutty jamón that made them a classic done perfectly.

The tempura avocado with pico de gallo and yellow chilli was fresh, crunchy, and lightly spicy, the creamy avocado melting in our mouths with every bite.

The grilled squid with oloroso parmentier followed, tender and smoky, paired with a buttery, nutty parmentier that elevated the dish.

For dessert, we enjoyed the baked cheesecake with coffee — smooth, not overly sweet, with a subtle coffee undertone that made for a refined finish.

Presentation across all dishes was on point. Colourful, vibrant plates that looked impressive without trying too hard. Portions were generous for tapas-style dining, and each dish had its own personality.

Service was warm, fast, and attentive. Staff were friendly and handled the growing lunch rush without missing a beat. We didn’t feel rushed, but everything arrived at just the right pace.

We also noticed the restaurant offers a tempting wine and cocktail selection. Beyond this, they own a separate brasserie, Afuego, and a private cocktail club, both of which we’re keen to explore on our next visit.

We left full, relaxed, and genuinely happy. The mix of design, atmosphere, and great cooking made this one of our favourite meals in Seville. Prices were reasonable for the quality and the experience. Nothing felt overpriced.

El Pintón is perfect for stylish tapas with friends, a relaxed date, or anyone who loves good food and beautiful design in a vibrant setting. If you're visiting Seville and want something modern without losing the spirit of the city, this place is a must.
